She Might Win Anyway.\n                    <\/span>\n<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>\u201cThe decision to change the rules around voting that were a long-standing practice before Republicans\u2019 attempts to suppress absentee voting was wrong, and we disagree with the ruling today,\u201d Remiker wrote in a statement \u2014 adding that the state party intends to \u201cexamine all of [their] options moving forward.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cTheir primary is already chaotic enough,\u201d Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Brian Schimming told <span><u>The Associated Press<\/u><\/span> earlier this month about the lawsuit. \u201cElection laws should not be changed to rescue one party from the consequences of its own actions.\u201d<\/p><p>Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez, who was seen as a front-runner in the governor\u2019s race, <span><u>dropped out<\/u><\/span> on July 17 after <span><u>reporting<\/u><\/span> \u201cserious mismanagement and inaccuracies\u201d in her campaign finance filings. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley jumped back into the race on July 18 \u2014 after he\u2019d <span><u>dropped out<\/u><\/span> on July 8 and endorsed Rodriguez \u2014 with support from retiring Democratic Gov. Tony Evers.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=1958\">Chris Murphy Demands Answers From Education Department Over Disputed Civics Competition<\/a><\/p><p>Missy Hughes, former Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation CEO, suspended her campaign earlier this month \u2014 triggering a decision by the state elections commission to block the ability to revote if a candidate drops out.<\/p>\n<p>The commission voted 4-2 on July 9 to issue the guidance limiting voters\u2019 ability to \u201cspoil\u201d their ballots and excluded circumstances like someone deciding to vote for another candidate.<\/p><p>In their suit, Democrats urged the court to issue a temporary restraining order against the policy.<\/p><p>Rodriguez\u2019s and Hughes\u2019 names remain on ballots, and the primary election is Aug. 11.<\/p><p>Five Democratic candidates \u2014 Crowley, former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, former Milwaukee mayoral chief of staff Joel Brennan, state Rep. Francesca Hong and state Sen.
