Youth.\n                    <\/span>\n<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>Trump earlier Monday reiterated his assertion that the administration has recordings of vandals cutting the Reflecting Pool with box knives.<\/p><p>\u201cNow I\u2019m not saying I was 100% thrilled with the contractor, but the contractor was rushing,\u201d Trump said. \u201cWe wanted to get it open for July 4, and we got it done. But in addition, there was vandalism.\u201d<\/p><p>The president said Pirro visited the Reflecting Pool after the Fourth of July celebration when the water was filled with debris from the record-breaking fireworks display.<\/p><p>Trump said Pirro \u201cchoked\u201d after a judge questioned the government\u2019s evidence and the handling of the prosecution. Chuck Edwards Over \u2018Inappropriate Conduct\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe folded like an umbrella, and people get away with things,\u201d Trump said. \u201cIt\u2019s a disgrace.\u201d<\/p><p>Pirro\u2019s filing to dismiss the case cast blame on the Interior Department, saying new information provided to her office undermined the evidence \u2014 supplied by Interior and U.S. Park Police \u2014 that the damage was \u201centirely caused by vandals\u201d rather than botched construction.<\/p><p>Interior Secretary Doug Burgum backed Trump\u2019s assertion that vandals damaged the Reflecting Pool and touted his commitment to seeing through cases against any alleged vandals.<\/p><p>\u201cWe won\u2019t back down to deranged people who want to destroy, deface, or degrade our monuments,\u201d Burgum <span><u>wrote<\/u><\/span> Saturday on X.<\/p><p>Trump and Pirro spoke on the phone on Saturday about the court filing, and one unnamed source told CNN the conversation \u201cwasn\u2019t pretty.\u201d<\/p><p>Hearn, a former Olympic canoeist, was one of at least seven people arrested at the Reflecting Pool over allegations of destruction of property and vandalism, according to the White House.
