Sen. Mitch McConnell\u2019s office says the Kentucky Republican has been released from a rehabilitation center and will continue his recovery from home.<\/p>

\u201cEarlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home,\u201d the senator said in a statement released by his office. \u201cElaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I\u2019ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff.\u201d<\/p>\n

McConnell, 84, has been absent from the Senate since his office said he fell at his home in Washington in June. The senator spent roughly four weeks in hospital care and then went to a rehabilitation center in mid-July to continue physical therapy, according to his office.<\/p>

He has not been seen or heard from publicly for months, though his office has released a photo of him with his wife, Elaine Chao, from the rehabilitation center. He said in Thursday\u2019s statement he would not be returning immediately to the Senate, which is still in session before a planned August recess.<\/p>
