Buddy Carter Emerges as a Dark Horse Candidate to Lead the FDA<\/a><\/p><p>FCC Chair Brendan Carr has threatened <span><u>ABC\u2019s broadcast licenses<\/u><\/span> and investigated its workplace diversity practices, as well as Democratic Texas senatorial candidate James Talarico\u2019s appearance on \u201cThe View.\u201d The  contends these moves amount to First Amendment violations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Administration has waged a retaliatory campaign against ABC for a single reason: it disapproves of what ABC broadcasts,\u201d the company\u2019s attorneys wrote in the court filing. \u201cThat campaign began in this Administration\u2019s earliest days and has only intensified since.\u201d<\/p><p>ABC is seeking emergency intervention from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to stop the FCC from demanding early renewal for eight of the company\u2019s television stations. None of the licenses was set to expire before 2028, but Carr demanded they file renewals this year. They knew what it was about,\u201d <span><u>Trump said<\/u><\/span>. \u201cThey and others in the media are part of a plot. They want to continue this fraud for whatever reason. \u2026 You can\u2019t have a great country without free and fair elections. Fraud like this should mean a revocation of their licenses.\u201d<\/p><p>Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s on-air comments also triggered the FCC\u2019s moves to shape the company\u2019s content, ABC\u2019s lawsuit states.
