An anonymous federal official warned in a whistleblower report released Tuesday that the U.S. Postal Service plans to secretly and unlawfully implement the Trump administration\u2019s mail-in ballot restrictions<\/u><\/span> through a \u201crushed\u201d new system that could prevent voters from receiving their ballots.<\/p>

The whistleblower said in a disclosure to Congress that the USPS began working on a new set of untested information technology systems, including the \u201cFederal Ballot Mail Portal,\u201d in June 2026 despite court-ordered injunctions<\/u><\/span> to halt its work, which began following an executive order by President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

The report was released Tuesday morning by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut), the ranking member of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.<\/p>

The portal will \u201calmost certainly have significant operating problems\u201d due to rushed development, the whistleblower said. It may lead to failures in the ballot verification process \u2014 which under the new system\u2019s \u201czero percent failure rate\u201d means that if one single ballot\u2019s bar code in a bulk-mailing of 10,000 ballots fails to properly scan, the entire batch is rejected and sent back to the states.<\/p>
