In a motion filed Tuesday, Beatty\u2019s attorneys say the records \u2014 a building plan and a five-slide PowerPoint presentation \u2014 served as the only pretext for what they called a \u201crushed effort\u201d by a mostly Trump-appointed board of trustees to shutter the facility and circumvent an earlier court ruling<\/u><\/span> ordering the president\u2019s name be scrubbed from the building\u2019s facade.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs before, these new documents were \u2018light-on-details,\u2019 contained no meaningful \u2018cost-benefit analysis of the closure,\u2019 and constituted a \u2018stacked deck,\u2019\u201d the motion states.<\/p>

The Ohio Democrat\u2019s attorneys said the Trump administration intentionally obscured the documents from the public without ever filing a formal motion to seal or explaining to the court why the records must remain secret. The court should at minimum agree to release the documents with limited redactions obscuring only sensitive security or financial details, they wrote.<\/p>\n
