{"id":3406,"date":"2026-09-02T22:41:04","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T22:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=3406"},"modified":"2026-09-02T22:41:04","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T22:41:04","slug":"new-jersey-takes-its-fight-against-kalshi-to-the-supreme-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=3406","title":{"rendered":"New Jersey Takes Its Fight Against Kalshi to the Supreme Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>New Jersey is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether federal law preempts states from regulating the prediction market platform Kalshi.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=3404\">DOJ Says States That Fail to Report Undocumented Immigrants Could Lose Federal Funding<\/a><\/p><p>In a Wednesday , the state asserts Kalshi has found a federal back door into sports betting, allowing the company to avoid licensing rules, taxes and consumer protections set by individual states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies like Kalshi claim to offer legal sports betting in all 50 States, but they refuse to follow the gambling laws of any State,\u201d Jennifer Davenport, the New Jersey attorney general, said in a news release.<\/p><p>The company has been bombarded with legal challenges from at least 20 states, but has a fierce defender in the Trump administration.
