Law Firm\u2019s Political Committee<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><b>THE LATEST<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Mike Johnson is putting up a short-term<\/b> proposal to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act until July 2 before it expires in two days. But because a suspension vote requires approval from two-thirds of the House, the measure will all but likely fail with Democratic holdouts \u2014 which many in Republican leadership expect to happen, sources told NOTUS. Members are currently scheduled to fly out after votes.<\/p>\n<p><b>Donald Trump<\/b> <span><u>proposed the extension<\/u><\/span> this morning, but Senate Democrats still say they won\u2019t play ball as long as <b>Bill Pulte<\/b> is the nominee for acting director of National Intelligence.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sen. <b>Mark Warner <\/b>(D-Virginia) suggested Deputy DNI <b>Aaron Lukas<\/b> would be an acceptable temporary option. The White House has also <span><u>reached out<\/u><\/span> to <b>Pete Hoekstra<\/b>, a former House Intelligence Committee chair, in its search for a permanent replacement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Trump\u2019s <span><u>Truth Social<\/u><\/span> post also noted Pulte, who will start next Friday, will begin downsizing agency operations \u2014 which could open the door to <span><u>shuttering it altogether<\/u><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>THE ADMINISTRATION<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Government lawyers argue that<\/b> a temporary restraining order against the White House UFC event <span><u>should be dismissed<\/u><\/span>, saying the alleged harm \u2014 including the potential \u201chideous\u201d and \u201cdisgusting\u201d sights \u2014 is easy to avoid.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The court filing also cited former presidents\u2019 South Lawn exhibitions, from <b>George W. Bush<\/b>\u2019s annual tee-ball games to <b>Joe Biden<\/b>\u2019s ice-skating rink. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Inflation has risen<\/b> for a third-straight month. The Consumer Price Index report showed a 4.2% rise in May compared to last year, with overall prices increasing 0.5%.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cNo, I love it. The numbers are great,\u201d Trump said when asked if he was concerned about today\u2019s numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Trump told reporters<\/b> in the Oval Office that the U.S. has been taking \u201cmillions of barrels of oil\u201d out of the Strait of Hormuz unbeknownst to Iran.
