UFC CEO Dana White denounced fighter Josh Hokit for calling former first lady Michelle Obama \u201ca man\u201d at Sunday\u2019s Freedom 250 event at the White House.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand that the Obama\u2019s are public figures but I\u2019m completely against saying nasty and false things about people\u2019s families,\u201d White told Time magazine in a text message. \u201cEveryone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who backed Trump in 2024, called<\/u><\/span> on the president to condemn Hokit\u2019s comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you have that on the White House lawn, on an event you put down, I don\u2019t care what you think about the Obamas or anything, that has to be an immediate denounce,\u201d Portnoy said. \u201cIf Trump should denounce it, he should say that was totally wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Hokit\u2019s statement. Michelle Obama\u2019s representatives also did not immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n

Hokit, a heavyweight, won his bout against UFC legend Derrick Lewis. During a post-match interview, Hokit thanked President Donald Trump for putting on the event before making the disparaging comment about Obama.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichelle Obama is a man,\u201d Hokit told podcaster Joe Rogan, who interviewed Hokit after the fight. \u201cAm I right, America?\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogan did not immediately address the comment or ask a follow-up question about it.<\/p>\n

Inclement weather and lawsuits<\/u><\/span> threatened to derail the event, which served as the kickoff to celebrations for the country\u2019s 250th birthday. White told reporters that despite the \u201camazing experience,\u201d future UFC events at the White House would be tough to afford.<\/p>\n
