Some States Didn\u2019t Get the Memo.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just did receive an invitation from the White House, which we accepted,\u201d Dolan said during an interview on New York\u2019s WFAN. \u201cWe still have to figure out the details, etc., but yes, of course. Look, I invited the president to come down for the game. He is a friend. I\u2019ve known him for 30 years, and I\u2019m very proud to bring the team to the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dolan, a longtime friend of the president, invited Trump to Game 3 of the NBA Finals, in which the Knicks hosted the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden. Spectators inside and outside the arena <span><u>booed the president<\/u> \u2014 a New Yorker and Knicks fan \u2014<\/span>when he was spotlighted during the national anthem.<\/p>\n<p>The Knicks lost the game 115-111 \u2014 the team\u2019s only defeat during the series.<\/p>\n<p>When asked before Dolan\u2019s announcement if he would accept a hypothetical invitation to visit the White House, guard Jose Alvarado <span><u>told<\/u><\/span> TMZ on Wednesday: \u201cIf there\u2019s a chance, I\u2019m going wherever my teammate goes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, at least one team member doesn\u2019t seem to be a fan of the president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYESSIR!!!! GET TRUMP\u2019S DUMBASS OUT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!\u201d guard Josh Hart <span><u>posted<\/u><\/span> on X in November 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Dolan\u2019s acceptance of the invite would make the Knicks the first NBA team to visit the White House in either of Trump\u2019s nonconsecutive terms.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=528\">Trump Settles $100 Million Lawsuit Against His Niece<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last March, the Oklahoma City Thunder <span><u>declined<\/u><\/span> an invitation due to a \u201ctiming issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During Trump\u2019s first term, back-to-back champions Golden State Warriors did not meet with the president after he <span><u>rescinded<\/u><\/span> his invitation because some star players spoke out against him in 2017.
