But <b>Donald Trump<\/b> repeatedly cast doubt on whether the deal will hold, saying if the stipulations aren\u2019t enacted in 60 days, \u201cwe go back to bombing.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cMistakes are made, war is nasty,\u201d Trump said in a notable acknowledgement of the U.S. strike on a girls\u2019 school on the conflict\u2019s first day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>JD Vance<\/b> is set to attend the official signing in Switzerland on Friday, and Trump said he might also attend.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cIf it doesn\u2019t work out, I\u2019m blaming JD,\u201d Trump jokingly responded to a reporter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The Senate Intelligence Committee<\/b> postponed <b>Jay Clayton<\/b>\u2019s <span><u>hearing<\/u><\/span> after <b>Donald Trump<\/b> threw a 4 a.m. wrench in the works. Chair <b>Tom<\/b> <b>Cotton<\/b> (R-Arkansas) <span><u>called<\/u><\/span> it \u201cregrettable\u201d that Trump directed his director of national intelligence pick to skip the hearing: \u201cMr. Clayton is a patriot and a highly qualified nominee, as the president has said repeatedly.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sen. <b>Thom Tillis<\/b> (R-North Carolina) told reporters Trump\u2019s actions are \u201cundermining\u201d the Senate\u2019s ability to deliver on his agenda: \u201cSomebody\u2019s not dialing the president into the complexities of what he\u2019s done here.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThis is a Republican president, a Republican Senate, a Republican House screwing up,\u201d <b>Chuck Schumer<\/b> said during a press conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Renewal of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act spy program was already in jeopardy, and Trump now says he won\u2019t approve a Section 702 reauthorization unless unrelated provisions from the stagnant SAVE America Act are attached.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The president also wants Clayton\u2019s Southern District of New York <span><u>replacement<\/u><\/span>, <b>Jamie McDonald<\/b>, confirmed before he can move forward as DNI. McDonald\u2019s nomination has <span><u>not been<\/u><\/span> officially sent to the Senate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>THE ADMINISTRATION<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>The Federal Reserve declined<\/b> to <span><u>raise interest rates<\/u><\/span> due to inflation driven by high energy prices.<\/p>\n<p><b>The administration told states<\/b> to combat unemployment fraud or face penalties, highlighting problems in California, New York and Illinois in <span><u>letters sent to governors<\/u><\/span> of all 50 states.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=530\">Trump Is Threatening State Unemployment Funds. Some States Didn\u2019t Get the Memo.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Sweeping federal spending reviews<\/b> and previous staffing cuts slowed USDA\u2019s screwworm response, <span><u>former officials say.<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Department of the Interior will pay<\/b> $765 million in a <span><u>settlement<\/u><\/span> to abandon leases on four offshore wind farms in favor of investing in fossil fuels \u2014 bringing the <span><u>total amount<\/u><\/span> spent on such agreements to nearly $2.6 billion.<\/p>\n<h2><b>THE HILL<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Oklahoma pastor Jackson Lahmeyer dropped out<\/b> of his Republican runoff for the 1st Congressional District today, NOTUS\u2019 <span><u>Reese Gorman scoops<\/u><\/span>, following a Daily Mail story alleging he flirted with a woman who wasn\u2019t his wife.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trump <span><u>switched his endorsement<\/u><\/span> following the article and posted his support for opponent <b>Mark Tedford<\/b> before Lahmeyer announced his decision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The missing Rep.
