You can get it in your inbox every day by <\/i><span><i>signing up here<\/i><\/span><i> \u2014 it\u2019s free!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=564\">Lawmakers Say Education Department Changes Will Leave Students \u2018Lost\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><b>THE LATEST<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>JD Vance is defending<\/b> the new Iran peace deal \u2013 touting what he views as the U.S.\u2019s superior position without sharing additional details about unspecified \u201cgentlemen\u2019s agreements\u201d between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The vice president insisted the deal is already benefitting Americans, adding that gas prices will continue to fall after they <span><u>dropped below<\/u><\/span> $4 for the first time since March.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cWords don\u2019t matter, ladies and gentlemen,\u201d Vance said at a news conference this morning. \u201cWe\u2019re about verification.\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Congress received the formal signed copy of the deal today, Vance added, and the White House will brief lawmakers soon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Donald Trump<\/b> is still backtracking on provisions of the <span><u>deal<\/u><\/span> he\u2019s signed twice, posting on <span><u>Truth Social<\/u><\/span> that \u201cthere is no 300 billion dollar payment to Iran by the U.S. That\u2019s Fake News!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Vance also reemphasized <\/b>Trump\u2019s influence as leader of a world superpower <span><u>to Israeli critics<\/u><\/span>. The president, he said, \u201cis the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time\u201d \u2014 and warned Israeli Cabinet members against attacking their \u201conly powerful ally.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><b>THE ADMINISTRATION<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Pete Hegseth said he expects<\/b> <span><u>some NATO countries<\/u><\/span> to \u201cfail\u201d a Pentagon-led review of U.S. forces in Europe, criticizing the allied countries for not taking part in the war against Iran.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Department of the Interior<\/b> <span><u>must restore exhibits<\/u><\/span> that mentioned topics like race, climate and LGBTQ+ communities \u2014 and ensure that they \u201cremain available and visible to the public\u201d when reinstalled, a federal judge ruled.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The administration can <span><u>replace a slavery exhibit<\/u><\/span> at George Washington\u2019s Philadelphia home, a federal appeals court ruled in a separate case.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Scientists say Health and Human Services<\/b> is <span><u>misinterpreting their data<\/u><\/span> and ignoring evidence to push Medicaid work requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=562\">Vance to Israel: Stop Criticizing Your \u2018Only Powerful Ally\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><b>THE HILL<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Rep. Tom Kean Jr.<\/b> (R-New Jersey), will <span><u>return for House votes<\/u><\/span> on June 30 after being absent for more than three months with an undisclosed health issue. The House is scheduled to leave for recess July 2.<\/p>\n<p><b>Michigan Democrats allege<\/b> a conservative \u201cdark money\u201d nonprofit\u2019s TV ad for Republican Senate candidate <b>Mike Rogers<\/b> violated a <span><u>federal disclosure rule<\/u><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Protect College Sports Act<\/b> <span><u>passed<\/u><\/span> the Senate Commerce Committee by a 19-9 vote, and could soon see a full vote on the floor.<\/p>\n<p><b>The federal government would get<\/b> a 50% stake in AI giants like Open AI in a new bill introduced by <b>Sen. Bernie Sanders <\/b>(I-Vermont) \u2014 a more aggressive <span><u>version<\/u><\/span> of Trump\u2019s idea.
