That potential role had not been officially disclosed to shareholders or the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Post reported, using leaked documents.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers for Trump Media accused the publication of being on a \u201cyears-long crusade\u201d against the company and stating that the report created an \u201cexistential threat.\u201d Trump\u2019s team sought $3.8 billion in damages.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Judge Thomas Patrick Barber, a Trump appointee, sided with the Post on July 2. Barber ruled that Trump Media had \u201cfailed to present evidence\u201d that the newspaper had published its story with \u201cactual malice\u201d \u2014 which the plaintiff in defamation cases is required to concretely prove.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/modernhomejournals.com\/?p=955\">Rahm Emanuel Changes His Tune on Israel in Fiery Speech From Tel Aviv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Post said the publication was \u201cpleased with the court\u2019s decision and look forward to reviewing its written order upon release.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump Media did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Trump and Trump-backed organizations have repeatedly sued \u2014 and lost \u2014 defamation court cases against news publications.
