Jean Carroll<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><u>Social worker<\/u><\/span> <b>Paige Loud<\/b> and Maine Beer Company <span><u>co-founder<\/u><\/span><b> Dan Kleban<\/b> could also throw their hats in the ring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The state Democratic Party has an emergency meeting scheduled for this afternoon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A TV station <span><u>reported<\/u><\/span> that Maine state Rep. <b>Valli Geiger<\/b> said Platner had called in support of her succeeding him \u2014 which Platner\u2019s campaign spokesperson denied, telling NOTUS\u2019 Igor Bobic: \u201cHe\u2019s not made any decision on endorsing. Graham called Valli to thank her for her support and encouraged her to consider running if he stepped down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cIt\u2019s over,\u201d<\/b> President <b>Donald Trump<\/b> <span><u>said<\/u><\/span> of the ceasefire with Iran and the countries\u2019 memorandum of understanding. \u201cI don\u2019t want to deal with them, but they\u2019re scum. \u2026 They\u2019re led by sick people, and they\u2019re vicious, violent people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another policy bombshell from today\u2019s NATO summit: The U.S. is working to <span><u>allow<\/u><\/span> Ukraine to produce Patriot air defense systems \u2014 though Trump hasn\u2019t informed American manufacturers yet.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The president also <span><u>threatened<\/u><\/span> to cut off all trade and visits with Spain, and his administration is now <span><u>compiling<\/u><\/span> a \u201cmenu\u201d of goods to potentially embargo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>He <span><u>isn\u2019t<\/u><\/span> flying home on his new Air Force One, though.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>THE ADMINISTRATION<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>The president lost<\/b> his bid to <span><u>delay<\/u><\/span> paying out <b>E. Jean Carroll<\/b>\u2019s $5 million settlement. He immediately appealed the decision.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A three-judge panel also <span><u>denied<\/u><\/span> a Kennedy Center board request to restore Trump\u2019s name to the institution as it goes through the appeal process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The DOJ threatened<\/b> <span><u>dozens<\/u><\/span> of state and local election officials with prosecution if any noncitizens are found to have voted in the upcoming midterms.
